Captain Igor Piňos, as one of the few Czechs in history, is approaching the goal of 140,000 nautical miles.

Igor Piňos is an ocean captain (Yachtmaster Ocean), a GMDSS radio operator of the GOC professional class, a yachting instructor and a test commissioner of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic. He is the only one in the Czech Republic with approval for all tested subjects, a doctor authorized by the Maritime Authority to assess the medical fitness of captains of naval yachts and a SPS commissioner for the assessment of authorized persons.

He learned seamanship and navigation from professionals as a naval officer aboard merchant ships during the days of the Czechoslovak seafaring - in the days when GPS did not exist, there was only a pencil, sextant, chronometer, stopwatch and astronomical tables. He completed two trips around the world, crossed the equator and the northern polar circle many times. He approached the Southern Arctic Circle on a 13 m yacht at 35 Nm. He sailed around Cape Horn. sailed across the Atlantic 11 times and the Pacific twice in both directions.
